¡Viva la industria ferroviaria!

Our ASC team is looking forward to exciting discussions and networking opportunities at Rail Live 2025. The international conference for Technology, Innovation and Strategy for the entire value chain of the railway industry will take place in Madrid this year, from November 26 to 28.

As a manufacturer of high-precision, innovative inertial sensors, we offer solutions specifically designed for use on trains and in railway infrastructure that add significant value. They ensure a systematic increase in the capacity, safety and efficiency of sustainable rail mobility around the world.

Comprehensive sensor solutions for successful railway systems

For the ASC RAIL series, for example, analog accelerometers and gyroscopes have been qualified in accordance with EN 50155 and other relevant railway standards. This saves operators individual documentation effort, time and budget. Tested components can now be leveraged to assemble customized sensor systems that comply with applicable national and international standards and help with the targeted expansion of productive railway systems.

Beyond the RAIL series, ASC offers further comprehensive sensor solutions for the railway system. Its proven capacitive accelerometers, gyroscopes and IMUs are leveraged in the continuous monitoring of bridges, tunnels, track geometry and other critical infrastructure. The high-precision, robust, flexibly configurable sensors are used in the development of trains and rolling stock, their testing and certification as well as during active service.

For example, bogies on high-speed trains, which are exposed to enormous loads, are monitored in active service through extremely robust and stable acceleration sensors from the German manufacturer. Not only does this ensure the running characteristics of railway vehicles, it also helps detect maintenance and repair needs early and to proactively maintain the rolling stock.

Spain’s largest railway trade fair

Rail Live 2025 is Spain’s largest international trade event for mobility and transportation. Over three conference days, it brings together more than 10,000 experts from railway companies, infrastructure operators, academia, manufacturers and all businesses supplying the railway industry.

First-hand expertise is exchanged, innovations are presented and novel cooperation projects initiated among more than 300 exhibitors. In addition, over 200 expert presentations offer the opportunity to find out about latest trends and technologies.

Sustainable German quality

“We are particularly pleased to be showing up in Madrid this year jointly with other specialists from Germany,” says Renate Bay, Managing Director of ASC Sensors. They will all be presenting product and process innovations at the German Railway Industry Association’s booth in Hall 10 | Booth F155D.

The German Railway Industry Association (VDB, Verband der Bahnindustrie in Deutschland, e.V.) represents the strengths and interests of over 250 member companies from across the entire value chain of the railway ecosystem vis-à-vis key stakeholders including railway operators, policy decisionmakers and the general public. ASC Sensors has been actively involved in the VDB since early 2018.

The association’s core tasks range from strengthening cooperation and competition to expanding climate protection measures such as improving energy efficiency through digital control and new drive concepts. Innovative pilots are driving forward the digitalization and modernization of rail transport and infrastructure. The VDB is working on the design of certification procedures, norms and technical standards with the aim of strengthening industrial collaboration, reducing costs and further increasing technical quality. To open up new markets and promote international cooperation projects, the VDB also organizes professional visits and trade fair participation.

To achieve all this and more, VDB members align their efforts in around 20 specialist panels and working groups, as well as on an ad hoc basis to address current issues. “On the one hand, they have outstanding technical expertise,” explains Peter Riegl, Technical Sales Engineer at ASC Sensors, who is involved in the VDB Passenger Vehicles Working Group. “On the other hand, the member companies themselves benefit from this professional exchange. We learn from and with each other, and every company is constantly evolving as a result.”

“The high level of market-oriented expertise offered by this unique network has helped make the VDB a sought-after partner for local authorities, rail and infrastructure operators. Our customers in the mobility sector appreciate that our close-knit network provides them access not only to ASC’s own expertise, but also to the expanded potential behind it,” says Riegl.
