Construction sites are unforgiving environments. Heavy loads, rough terrain, potholes and continuous operation expose concrete mixers, pumps and other specialty vehicles to significant shocks and vibrations. Understanding these loads early in the development process is essential to improving durability, operational safety and service life.

To that end, the triaxial ASC 5511LN capacitive accelerometer delivers valuable insights. Its outstanding signal-to-noise ratio allows to precisely conduct even demanding measurements of smallest frequencies and amplitudes in all three degrees of freedom. An integrated cable of configurable length and connectors plus lightweight aluminum IP67 housing make it well suited to harsh test environments.

In prototype testing of truck-mounted concrete pumps, ASC 5511LN sensors have been used to measure forces generated by the pumping process as well as construction-site journeys. The resulting data helps engineers evaluate long-term structural loads, evaluate damping solutions and optimize vehicle design before serial production.

For heavy construction vehicles, better measurement data means smarter engineering decisions, greater reliability and optimized performance over the entire lifecycle.
