How does a vehicle really behave when changing lanes, braking hard or negotiating demanding driving maneuvers? Test drives provide the answers – and high-precision inertial sensors turn vehicle motion into actionable engineering data.

ASC 4411LN and ASC 5511LN low-noise accelerometers can be installed at key measuring points such as engine mounts, close to the wheels, on the vehicle frame or in seat backs. During test drives, they precisely capture dynamic accelerations and vibrations under realistic operating conditions.

This data helps engineers determine representative load collectives and evaluate crucial parameters including vehicle dynamics, component reliability, ride comfort and vibration exposure for the driver. Inertial sensor measurements can also support the development of evaluation profiles and provide valuable input for validating vehicle models used in simulations.
