When seismic movements are barely perceptible, measurement precision becomes critical

For safety-critical infrastructure such as power plants, bridges, tunnels and dams, reliable seismic monitoring is vital. In areas exposed to tectonic activity, structures need to be monitored continuously – not only to detect potentially dangerous seismic events, but also to understand the long-term effects of micro-movements on structural integrity.

The challenge lies in capturing extremely small vibration amplitudes.

This is where capacitive accelerometers from the ASC EQ series excel. With a resolution of less than 1 µg and compliance with Motion Class B requirements, they provide the sensitivity needed to reliably measure even lowest-amplitude seismic vibrations.
