Remote operated vehicles (ROV) and autonomous underwater vehicles

When satellites can’t reach you, precision has to come from within

Below the water’s surface, navigation becomes a different challenge. Remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and diving drones cannot rely on GNSS signals, while conventional magnetometers may be affected by interference from metallic structures.

For reliable orientation and control, accurate inertial data is therefore mission-critical.

The ASC IMU 8 brings tactical-grade inertial measurement technology to demanding underwater applications. Combining triaxial gyroscopes and accelerometers in one compact, robust unit, it precisely captures all six degrees of freedom. With gyroscope bias stability of <0.1°/h, it provides the stable motion data required to maintain heading and orientation when external positioning signals are unavailable.

Its compact design also enables integration where installation space is limited – making the ASC IMU 8 ideally suited for sophisticated subsea systems.

From deep-sea inspections and offshore maintenance to underwater exploration and autonomous missions, reliable navigation starts with knowing exactly how your vehicle is moving.
