ASC 271
Uniaxial, Industrial Grade
Measurement range: 75 °/s to 900 °/s
Bias stability: 12 °/h
Angular random walk: 0.2 °/√h
On a passenger ship, comfort is about much more than luxurious surroundings. How a vessel moves through the water can make all the difference to the experience on board.
Because human sensitivity to mechanical vibrations depends on direction, frequency and amplitude – with discomfort occurring primarily at frequencies below 10 Hz – capturing even the smallest motions is essential when optimizing a vessel’s seakeeping behavior.
That’s why ASC inertial sensors play a critical role: The triaxial ASC 5511LN capacitive accelerometer combines low-frequency measurement capability with an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio, enabling precise analysis of vibrations and vessel dynamics. When slow rotational movements also need to be captured, the compact ASC 271 uniaxial and ASC 273 triaxial gyroscopes provide highly accurate angular-rate data.
The result? Precise, reproducible measurements that give shipbuilders valuable input for simulations, structural optimization and hull design – ultimately helping create vessels that deliver a smoother, more comfortable journey.
Because when passenger comfort is the destination, precision is where the journey begins.
