Output signal: 4-20 mA
Scale factor: 0.16 mA/g to 4 mA/g
The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge is no ordinary infrastructure project. Opened in 2018 and stretching around 35 miles, it is the world’s longest bridge-tunnel sea crossing – spanning a heavily trafficked waterway where structural integrity and safety are paramount. ASC sensor technology is part of its monitoring system.
Capacitive accelerometers from the ASC CS series are specifically designed for continuous condition and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of bridges. Their 4–20 mA current output enables loss-free signal transmission over cable lengths exceeding 100 meters – a major advantage for large-scale infrastructure – while high EMC immunity supports reliable measurements in demanding environments.
On the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao crossing in the South China Sea, ASC sensors enable comprehensive dynamic characterization of bridge properties. This is particularly important following exceptional events such as a ship collision, when engineers need reliable data to assess the mechanical integrity of the structure.
When infrastructure reaches extraordinary dimensions, monitoring precision needs to excel.
