Commercial vehicle performance isn’t only about engines, drivetrains and durability. It’s also about the people who operate these vehicles every day.
Truck drivers and operators of construction, agricultural and other heavy machinery can be exposed to significant whole-body vibration (WBV) transmitted through their seats. Prolonged exposure can affect health and well-being – with potential consequences ranging from fatigue and discomfort to absence from work and machine downtime.
Available through ASC Sensors, the MMF KS963B.100-S Seat Pad WBV Accelerometer provides a practical solution for measuring and analyzing these loads. The triaxial IEPE accelerometer is embedded in a flexible, ultra-low-profile seat pad and measures vibration exposure directly where it reaches the operator. It supports measurements according to standards including ISO 2631, ISO 8041 and ISO 7096.
Accurate vibration data helps engineers evaluate vehicle and seat designs, identify excessive vibration exposure and implement effective mitigation measures.
Because protecting the people behind the wheel is an important part of engineering better commercial vehicles.
