Truck-mounted concrete pumps combine heavy-duty mobility with highly dynamic pumping operations. To ensure performance, operational safety and long service life, manufacturers need to understand exactly how shocks and vibrations affect the vehicle, its structure and critical components.
During prototype testing, triaxial ASC 5511LN accelerometers are installed on the vehicle frame to precisely capture the magnitude, duration and direction of forces generated during pumping operations and construction-site driving.
Based on MEMS capacitive technology, the ASC 5511LN combines low-noise performance with an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio, enabling precise measurement of the smallest frequencies and amplitudes in three DOF.
The resulting data helps assess medium- and long-term loads, compare damping materials and optimize vehicle tuning. Typically, these measurements reveal significant differences between various tested damping elements, thereby facilitating improvements that protect onboard electronics and enhance overall operational safety.
The takeaway: Better measurement data enables better engineering decisions – before a vehicle enters series production.
