Smart sensor systems play a central part in digitization and networking: They measure and record the properties and behavior of components, vehicles, machines or infrastructures to allow real-time condition monitoring. A major advantage of these sensor systems is their ability to combine legacy and current data in order to determine the future development of critical parameters.
Smart sensor systems boost the efficiency of many applications
These analyses are the basis for applications such as predictive maintenance or the creation of digital twins. ASC AiSys® smart sensors therefore help to automate work processes and boost their efficiency. One example of the new systems is the ASC AiSys® VibroTherm, which was developed in cooperation with EPHY MESS GmbH. The ASC AiSys® VibroTherm combines temperature and acceleration measurements to allow intelligent condition monitoring by means of implemented algorithms.
In 2021 ASC was involved in two research projects with universities and other industrial partners to develop innovative sensor solutions. The first is a smart predictive maintenance system for monitoring decanting centrifuges. The other is a smart condition monitoring system for monitoring wind energy conversion systems. This system will serve as the basis for a digital twin of the WEC systems.
Numerous new and optimized products
In 2021, ASC also expanded the sensor portfolio to include the ultra low-noise series ASC EQ and ASC QF. More new sensor products will be presented at the start of 2022.
